I am Monterey, California born. The sea speaks to me most. Present day I am a Los Angeles local spending half of the year abroad. I find myself in London now, completely enamored.
I enjoy documentation. To create a world of one's own, I think, is some kind of privilege. A way to warp reality as I know it to be. To be able to share one's world is culturally valuable and to some extent, I believe, the duty of a visual artist. My vision of unity is illustrated as a pure integration of environmental, economic, cultural and social links between humanity and nature, of which we are a part.
I ponder in front of mirrors and windows seemingly fascinated by my reflection, as if I've never witnessed the shape of me. Self portraits are a way of documenting personal moments when I'm often alone. And at times involve a bit of youthful vanity reminiscent of my modeling career.
